It was 1995, 1996 i think, when I first set foot in this beautiful National Park in Maine called ACADIA. At that time, I was doing my post graduate studies in Alexander Technique, and struggling to finish a Master's in Piano Performance in Cambridge. It's been awhile, I have to think really hard to remind myself that I was indeed, once there.
I remember well how lost I felt looking out into this same ocean--the cold Atlantic. I was more than a thousand miles away from the Philippines and hardly in touch with my family; I could not make sense of WHY. Yet, I was grateful for finding solace and comfort in this beautiful New England landscape.
The water, the ocean, was my refuge as a child. It continues to be so, even today. I hope one day that my children learn to turn to nature and be grateful for its beauty and its mystery.
