What Happened to Downtime? The Extinction of Deep Thinking and Sacred Space | LinkedIn
It's so easy to miss that much needed downtime, alone time, ME-time; however you call it. Perhaps one can argue that some need it more than others, but we all need it.
One of the most central ideas in Waldorf Education is the balance of activities presented to a child during a school day. Waldorf teachers use the term, "breathing-in" and "breathing-out"; in essence tho, i think it's the balance of active learning and downtime, or "creative pause", like the term used in the article above. Imagine the gift you are giving your child when you cultivate this balance firstly, for yourself (mama, papa or yaya), and by consistenly creating a "rhythm" (another term used in Waldorf circles) that is the entirety of these balanced activities in your home life.
